Thanks to all the Brothers and their children that helped spruce up the section of St. Mary's Cemetery around the Crucifixion Monument this evening.   It was a lot of fun and it looks great !   Below are some photos from the event.

On Sunday May 21, 2017 the George C. Shields Council # 420 was awarded the "Council Activity Award" for Fraternal Year 2016-2017 at the Annual MA KofC Convention down in Hyannis, MA.  They were given this award as a result of all their work and effort at St. Mary's Parish Annual Septemberfest and for hosting their Annual Soccer Shootout during this wonderful parish event. Above is MA State Deputy Paul O'Sullivan presenting the Council Activity Award to Council # 420's Grand Knight Chris Goldner and to Council # 420's current District Deputy and the council's Past Grand Knight Chuck McPherson.  In the photo on the right are other Council # 420 officers who were in attendance at the MA State Convention: (LtoR) FS Dan Kiley;  DGK Chris Herrick;  DD & State Asst Warden (check out the arm band) Chuck McPherson;  Trustee Brian Healy and GK Chris Goldner.  

Congratulations to Emily Gaumond, the daughter of Council # 420 PGK Bruce Gaumond, on winning the Massachusetts State KofC Scholarship.  She was awarded her scholarship this weekend at the the Annual KofC State Convention down in Hyannis, MA.  Emily is a graduating Senior at Mansfield High School and will be attending St. Anselm College in the Fall.  Emily is in the photo above being handed the scholarship by Massachusetts KofC State Deputy Paul O'Sullivan.  In the other photo they were joined on stage by Emily's parents Katie and Bruce Gaumond.

Congratulations to Juliana DeSimone who was awarded the George C. Shields Council # 420 College Scholarship.  Juliana is a graduating Senior at Bishop Feehan High School.  She will be attending Hamilton College in Clinton, NY in the Fall. Juliana is the daughter of Brother Dan DeSimone and his wife Lisa.
